GPT Infraprojects Declares ₹1 Interim Dividend as Q2 Profit Falls 16.3%
GPT Infraprojects declares a ₹1 interim dividend for FY27 as Q2FY27 consolidated profit falls 16.3%. Revenue and EBITDA grow, while a ₹5,373 crore order book and major railway contracts strengthen its project pipeline.
The Board of Directors has fixed November 11, 2026, as the record date for determining shareholders eligible to receive the interim dividend. Payment is expected to be made on or before December 4, 2026.
For the quarter ended Q2FY27, GPT Infraprojects reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹291.4 crore, compared with ₹278.7 crore in Q2FY26, representing year-on-year growth of 4.6%. However, consolidated profit after tax (PAT) declined to ₹18.3 crore from ₹21.8 crore, marking a contraction of 16.3%.
Consolidated EBITDA increased 4.5% year-on-year to ₹41.3 crore from ₹39.5 crore. The EBITDA margin remained unchanged at 14.2%. However, the PAT margin contracted to 6.3% from 7.8% in Q2FY26, reflecting the pressure on the company's bottom line.
On a sequential basis, revenue declined 3.5% from ₹302.1 crore in Q1FY27, while EBITDA fell 13% from ₹47.5 crore. Profit after tax decreased 25.9% from ₹24.6 crore. The EBITDA margin also declined by 150 basis points to 14.2% from 15.7%, while the PAT margin dropped by 190 basis points to 6.3% from 8.2%.
For the first half of FY27, consolidated revenue stood at ₹593.5 crore, registering marginal year-on-year growth of 0.4%. Consolidated EBITDA increased 16.1% to ₹88.9 crore, while consolidated PAT declined 5.3% to ₹42.9 crore.
The company's financial performance reflects a divergence between operating growth and net earnings, with higher revenue and EBITDA failing to translate into improved consolidated profitability.
GPT Infraprojects maintained an order backlog of ₹5,373 crore, equivalent to approximately 4.3 times its FY26 revenue. The company secured fresh order inflows worth ₹1,491 crore during the quarter, providing visibility for its upcoming execution pipeline.
The order book comprises 84% from the Infrastructure segment and 16% from Concrete Sleepers. Infrastructure contributed 90% of the company's revenue during the quarter, while Concrete Sleepers accounted for the remaining 10%.
Chairman Om Tantia highlighted several significant order wins, including a ₹484 crore contract for constructing a steel girder bridge over the Mahanadi River.
The company's subsidiary, Alcon Builders & Engineers Limited, secured railway signalling contracts worth approximately ₹428 crore, taking its order book to a record ₹480 crore. The subsidiary also received a ₹385 crore order for concrete sleepers in South Africa, providing long-term order visibility in that geography.
In a strategic development, the Board approved the incorporation of a new entity, Ever Strong Highway LLP, with an initial contribution of ₹5,100. GPT Infraprojects will hold a 51% stake in the proposed LLP. The entity will focus on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) activities, particularly investments in Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) projects.
The company has also filed a Scheme of Amalgamation with the National Company Law Tribunal, Kolkata Bench. The proposed scheme involves the merger of its wholly owned subsidiaries, Alcon Builders and Engineers Private Limited and Jogbani Highway Private Limited, into the parent company.
The proposed merger is expected to strengthen Alcon's ability to participate in larger-value signalling EPC contracts by leveraging GPT Infraprojects' stronger net worth.
Management said project execution during H1FY27 experienced temporary moderation due to the West Bengal election period and extended monsoon impacts. However, workforce availability has since normalised.
The company also highlighted railway infrastructure investment approvals worth approximately ₹895 crore in West Bengal in recent months. Further connectivity projects worth more than ₹2,100 crore have been announced in the state budget, including projects for which GPT Infraprojects is well qualified to participate.
Despite the growth in revenue and EBITDA, rising finance costs remained a key factor affecting consolidated profitability. Finance costs increased to ₹11.3 crore in Q2FY27 from ₹8.5 crore in Q2FY26. Higher employee benefits expenses also contributed to the decline in net earnings.
At the standalone level, EBITDA margins expanded to 16% from 13.9% year-on-year, indicating improved margin performance at the parent-company level. However, the decline in consolidated PAT points to the impact of higher expenses across the group.
The sequential decline in revenue of 3.5% and EBITDA of 13% also reflected moderation in quarterly performance, with management attributing execution-related challenges to the West Bengal election period and extended monsoon conditions.
With an order book of ₹5,373 crore, fresh order inflows of ₹1,491 crore and additional railway infrastructure opportunities in West Bengal, GPT Infraprojects enters the second half of FY27 with substantial project visibility. However, the decline in consolidated profit despite revenue and EBITDA growth remains a key financial development in its Q2FY27 performance.
